Accommodations
There is something special about arriving at Goodland.
Maybe it's the winding country roads, the fresh air, or the way the trees seem to welcome you in. Tucked just outside Logan, Ohio, Goodland Hocking Hills is a thoughtfully restored farmstead surrounded by forests, meadows, and wide-open skies. Located just 25 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park and less than an hour from John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), it's easy to reach, yet feels wonderfully removed from the pace of everyday life.
This is a place meant for slowing down.
Wake with the sun streaming through the windows. Wander the gardens with your morning coffee. Spend the afternoon exploring nearby trails, reading in a hammock, or simply doing nothing at all. As evening settles in, gather around the fire, pour a glass of wine, and watch the stars appear one by one.
Life here follows the seasons. The gardens are tended with care, meals are inspired by what the land provides, and every corner of the property invites you to linger just a little longer. It's a gentle reminder that the best days are often the simplest ones.
Whether you're joining us for watercolor
in the barn, sharing a meal around the farmhouse table, or ending the night with meaningful conversation by the fire, we hope you'll feel at home here.

Shared Cabins
The Colorful Creative is intentionally intimate, and so are the accommodations.
Our guests stay in three beautifully designed cabins nestled throughout the property. Each cabin is shared with a small group of fellow retreat attendees, creating space for connection, conversation, and the kind of friendships that often begin over morning coffee or late-night chats by the fire.
We encourage you to invite your favorite creative companion—your best friend, sister, daughter, or fellow maker—and experience the weekend together. Think of it as a grown-up summer camp, thoughtfully designed with beautiful spaces, meaningful moments, and plenty of room to slow down.
If you're coming on your own, don't worry. Many guests do, and it's often one of the most rewarding parts of the weekend. We'll thoughtfully pair cabin mates to ensure everyone feels comfortable and welcomed from the moment they arrive.
For those who would prefer a little more privacy, a limited number of private cabin upgrades will be available for an additional fee.
The Cabins
Each cabin has its own personality, blending warm woods, natural textures, vintage details, and modern comforts. They're intentionally simple, beautifully designed spaces that encourage rest after a full day of creating.

Around the Table
Some of the most meaningful moments of the weekend won't happen during a workshop—they'll happen around the table.
From Friday evening's welcome gathering to Saturday night's chef's dinner—and every breakfast, lunch, snack, and sweet bite in between—our menus celebrate the beauty of the season and the incredible farmers, growers, makers, and artisans who call this region home. Every meal is thoughtfully prepared using fresh, local ingredients with an emphasis on simple, honest cooking.
Leading the culinary experience is Chef Ruthann Kostadinov, whose passion for bringing people together has shaped more than two decades of memorable meals. Whether she's preparing a celebration for hundreds or an intimate dinner for friends, Ruth believes the best meals are the ones that invite people to slow down, linger a little longer, and create lasting memories together.
Picture warm sourdough fresh from the oven. An apple tart baking over the fire. Fresh herbs clipped from the garden just moments before dinner. Butter melting over roasted vegetables. A pot of locally roasted coffee waiting to greet the morning. Sometimes all it takes is a familiar aroma or a favorite recipe to transport us back to a cherished moment.
Throughout the weekend you'll enjoy farm-fresh eggs, seasonal fruits and vegetables, homemade breads, handcrafted desserts, locally roasted coffee, and thoughtfully prepared meals that celebrate the abundance of an Ohio autumn.
As the sun begins to set, we'll gather once again over candlelight with thoughtfully selected wines, local ciders and craft brews, seasonal cocktails, and beautiful non-alcoholic refreshments. Every meal is meant to be shared, savored, and enjoyed without rushing.
Between workshops you'll always find something delicious waiting—a grazing board in the kitchen, homemade cookies cooling on the counter, fresh fruit from the orchard, or an afternoon treat to enjoy with a cup of tea. We hope you leave not only nourished, but inspired to bring a little more seasonal, intentional living back home with you.
Dietary Preferences. We believe everyone deserves a seat at the table. If you have food allergies, dietary restrictions, or preferences, simply let us know during registration. We'll thoughtfully prepare accommodations so you can enjoy every meal alongside the rest of the group.
