Some more details
to answer your questions!
-
Absolutely! If you're attending with a friend, sister, or fellow creative, we'll do our best to accommodate your cabin request.
Coming on your own? Many of our guests will. We'll thoughtfully pair cabin mates based on age, interests, and preferences to help create a comfortable, welcoming experience.
If shared accommodations aren't quite your style, a limited number of private cabin upgrades are available for an additional $350. Because each private upgrade reduces the number of guests we can welcome, availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Your registration includes two nights of accommodations, all creative workshops and supplies, chef-prepared farm-to-table meals, snacks, coffee, tea, non-alcoholic beverages, and a thoughtfully curated selection of wine, local cider, and seasonal cocktails throughout the weekend. Snacks! lots of snacks!
Have a food allergy or dietary preference? We've got you covered. Simply let us know during registration, and our culinary team will thoughtfully accommodate your needs so you can enjoy every meal alongside the group.
And yes—there will always be fresh coffee brewing. Whether you're an early riser greeting the sunrise or someone who enjoys an afternoon cup while reading in a hammock, you'll never be far from a warm mug.
-
As the retreat approaches, we'll send all registered guests a detailed packing guide with everything you'll need for the weekend—including a few thoughtful suggestions you may not normally pack for a getaway. Depending on the weather, we might recommend boots for exploring the property, comfortable layers for crisp fall evenings, or your favorite watercolor set or sketchbook if you enjoy creating with your own supplies.
For the most part, think of it as packing for a cozy autumn weekend in the woods: comfortable clothes, a favorite sweater, walking shoes, and yes...don't forget your swimsuit. The wood-fired hot tubs are the perfect way to unwind after a full day of creating.
-
As much as we adore our four-legged friends, we ask that you leave your pets at home for the weekend.
Don't worry—you'll still have plenty of opportunities to experience farm life. Meet the animals that call Goodland home, learn about life on the farm, and if you're an early riser, you may even have the chance to join Kristy for morning chores (yes, that might include learning how to milk a cow!).
This weekend is all about slowing down, connecting with nature, and embracing the rhythms of farm life—and we promise there will be plenty of furry faces to keep you company.

Not at all! The Colorful Creative is designed for anyone who enjoys making, exploring, and trying something new. Whether you've never picked up a paintbrush or you make art every day, you'll feel right at home.
Our workshops are thoughtfully guided and welcoming to all skill levels, with an emphasis on curiosity, creativity, and the joy of making—not perfection.
If you're a professional artist, think of this weekend less as a studio residency and more as an opportunity to step outside your usual practice, experiment with new mediums, and reconnect with the simple pleasure of creating alongside others.
Our hope is that everyone leaves with new skills, fresh inspiration, beautiful handmade pieces, and perhaps most importantly, the confidence to continue living a more creative life long after the weekend ends.
-
Yes. At this time, The Colorful Creative has been thoughtfully designed as a women's retreat.
So many of us spend our days caring for others, juggling responsibilities, and putting our own creative passions on hold. This weekend is an invitation to step away from the demands of everyday life, reconnect with yourself, and be surrounded by a supportive community of women who are also seeking inspiration, rest, and meaningful connection.
Whether you come with a friend or arrive on your own, you'll be welcomed into a warm, encouraging environment where creativity is celebrated and new friendships naturally unfold.
And who knows...if all goes well, maybe we'll invite the guys to join us for a future retreat.

Think paper marbling and watercolor. Floral arranging and still lifes. Handcrafted jewelry, infused oils, herbal teas, and other beautiful projects inspired by the season.
From visual arts and hands-on making to culinary experiences and thoughtful take-home creations, each workshop has been carefully curated to encourage exploration, creativity, and a little play.
We're still putting the finishing touches on this year's lineup, but one thing is certain—you'll leave with new skills, handmade treasures, and plenty of inspiration to continue creating long after the weekend ends.
